If you live on Saltspring, you may have noticed our new delivery van on the roads!
In keeping with our mission to provide local food sustainably, we have extended our group of electric delivery vehicles to include this new Ford E-transit van. It is 100% electric, and equipped with an electric refrigeration unit as well! Usually harvested and washed first thing in the morning and then right into the van to keep cool until delivery that same day. The food delivered to our customers has never been fresher!
The van is also emblazoned with the WAWWE name and mandala.
Mandalas represent the cyclical and interconnected nature of our food model. The mandala version on the van places community at the centre. The abstract watercolor shapes represent the entire circular process from the pitchfork to the table fork, including the food we grow, and the reusable mason jars for our meals.
We cultivate a complex ever changing system of interconnected and unique elements. So, rather than reduce a singular mandala into a simplified logo, our complex mandalas will change and react to the moment. Expect to see new versions on reusable market bags and farm building murals.
If you see the van in town, be sure to say hello and chat with us!
